Fredericton Christian Academy (FCA) is excited to announce the hirings of new staff to their team for this coming fall. As FCA continues to rapidly grow we look forward to the impact and value our new staff will provide through their experience and passion in working with the youth of Fredericton and around the world.
FCA is pleased to announce that Tia Boyd will be joining our family in August of 2018 as FCA’s International Program Coordinator.
Tia Boyd grew up in the tiny community of Belleisle, NB spending most of her summers swimming, going for hikes, bike rides, or volunteering at her church. Tia is a graduate of Kingswood University with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry. Christian School life is a familiar environment for her, having graduated from Sussex Christian School (SCS), and having worked at SCS fulfilling many roles including a focus in their international program since her graduation.
Tia is a passionate, outgoing, and energetic person, who loves to be around people, and being a part of many outgoing activities! Her favourite Bible verse is Exodus 14:13-14; “But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The LORD himself will fight for you. Just be calm."
Tia is "excited to be joining the staff at Fredericton Christian Academy, and I can already tell that I’m going to love it here!"
FCA is pleased to announce that Ellen MacDonald will be joining our family in August of 2018 as the Homestay Coordinator.
Ellen MacDonald was born in beautiful Prince Edward Island and moved to Fredericton in 1999 to attend St. Thomas University. After several moves and eight years in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Ellen and her family have moved back “home” to Fredericton, a place they love.
Ellen graduated from St. Thomas University in 2002 with her Bachelor of Arts in history, psychology and math. She is married to Michael and they are proud parents of four amazing children. For the past ten years Ellen and her family have opened their home to several international students from Nigeria, Brazil, Japan and South Korea. Ellen has always enjoyed hosting these students and learning from them. This year Ellen learned what it was like to have a child in a homestay program as her eldest daughter lived in a homestay while she attended a professional ballet school in Ontario. Ellen also home-schools and is an ESL teacher.
Ellen loves Jesus and continues to seek him. Her greatest desire is to love others as God Loves her.
